Ik ga vanaf nu de tekstjes in het Engels beginnen neerpennen zodat mensen die ik onderweg tegenkom ook kunnen volgen.
I hope my story is easily readable and that I don't get a splanglish "Ai do not under stend" comment.
Before the Tango evening I was quite nervous. I never dance in couples. It always seemed more like wrestling simply because I didn't know how. The explanations were clear and I managed to get through and even liking it. I have to thank my dancing partner Paula of course. She invited us to come to her birthday party the next day. No, I am not going to tell her age. You have to guess yourselves. ![]()
Before going to the party Sara and I went to visit in Tigre the delta. You have all these cute little houses along the river. Instead of taking a tourist boat, we took a busboat which stopped at almost every house along the river. It took us 4 hours but it was genuine and nice also because of the sunny day.
Sara didn't come to the birthday party as the next day she had to get up early to pick up the Joker group at the airport. She missed a great party. In the trendy Palermo neighbourhoud we first had some drinks and cake before they moved the tables. All of a sudden the place got packed and it was if you couldn't even go to the bar to get drinks. Luckily Eliana explained me that you just had to push people over and scream "permiso". It worked. ![]()
On saturday morning Sara came back from the airport without a group. They missed their flight in Milan and would be one day later. However, they should have been on an inner flight to Ushaia the same day. No flights were available so they had to take a 40 hour bus ride. Crazy. This could have happened to me too so I helped a little bit and was happy not to have a trip this year for Joker.
I spent a lazy sunday like the porteños (people from BsAs) with Eliana and her family. Just relaxing by the pool, bbq, sun, mate and beautiful women (all single, guys !). It was hard to say goodbye in the evening before I hopped on the bus to San Antonio de Areco. When I arrived at 11 in the night the yearly Gaucho festival was just ending and the cowboys headed for the bars. I however still had to find the camping and put up my tent. Around 12 all hard work was done and I could start a deserved night sleep.
San Antonio de Areco is a quiet yet touristic place and it is always strange when you show up after a party. I also had the day after feeling so I matched the area. In the afternoon I made the first running effort in two weeks and it really felt like a "start to run" session at three in the afternoon albeit in the beautiful pampas. I discovered that evening that the locals start running after sundown. Stupid tourist!
Today, I took a five hour bus trip to Rosario. Argentina provides good bus services with perfect seats but they are always a bit late. This is the home of the national flag, the birth place of Che Guevara and the most beautiful women in the country according to the "Tourist Bible". I should correct this as the writer of this thing has never heard about Castelar.
Tomorrow I am going on a 17 hour (probably 20 hour) bus trip to the Iguazu falls after exploring Rosario further by bike (I hope). It is going to hurt.
